Deck the Halls Parade 2019

Santa and Roller Skater

Santa Claus with a friendly roller skating helper.

Deck the Halls Parade rolls 15 blocks through Westbury and includes participants from bands, sports teams, scouts, local businesses, churches, schools, and community organizations. There is a delightful procession of incredible art cars from the Houston Art Car Klub following the parade.

The Mandell family sponsors the parade, and works on the event year-round. Ember and David Mandell, the three sisters Noelle, Lyric, and Sonnet Mandell, and grandmother Barbara Atkinson, pick a theme each year, develop characters, design, purchase, and create costumes, choose music, fill character positions, make signs and props, market the parade, and direct it on golf carts the day of.

This year, Deck the Halls celebrates 21 years of parading through Westbury and the theme is all things Texan.

The parade lines up at 5505 Belrose in front of the old post office, marches down Burlinghall, then right on Ashcroft, around to and down Warm Springs, right on Atwell, and back to Belrose. Spectators can park on a side street or at Home Depot at 11500 Chimney Rock and walk over to the parade route.
