Downtown Lasers & Lights in Galveston
On Friday, Nov. 29, Galveston will kick off its Downtown Lasers & Lights event, featuring new laser shows, a magical display of lights and other holiday-themed attractions in Saengerfest Park – and beyond – through Dec. 31. Saengerfest Park, located at the corner of Strand and 23rd streets, will be decked in holiday décor, including a 30-feet-tall Christmas tree and a giant snow globe for visitors to enjoy on weekends.
New this year, four-hour holiday laser shows synchronized to music will be projected on the American National Insurance Company Building from 6 to 10 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Dec. 22.
In addition, festive lights will be hung along The Strand from 20th to 25th streets as well as along 23rd and Postoffice streets throughout the holiday season, creating the perfect atmosphere for holiday shopping. Galveston’s 36-block historic district is home to many unique shops, boutiques, antique stores and art galleries, from Christmas on The Strand – with its enormous collection of holiday items – to Hendley Market, with its handmade and artisan crafts.
