Family Day at Rienzi & Bayou Bend

Visit the two MFAH house museums—Rienzi and Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens—for an afternoon of free, family-friendly programs. Park at Bayou Bend and take the complimentary shuttle between locations!

“The Arts of Mexico” at Rienzi | Families are invited to participate in activities inspired by Rienzi’s exhibition Looking South: Collecting the Arts of Mexico. Learn about the objects on view and how they came to Rienzi; visit the Mexican Room; and explore the beautiful gardens outside.

“Celebrate the Season” at Bayou Bend | Discover the variety of winter holidays celebrated in America. Listen to a story from the picture book Winter Candle; make your own candle-inspired art; enjoy music by the Houston Youth String Orchestra; and visit the first-floor room galleries in the house.

Rienzi is the MFAH house museum for European decorative arts. 
Bayou Bend is the MFAH house museum for American decorative arts.
