Fermentation Friday
The John P. McGovern Museum of Health and Medical Science presents Fermentation Fridays, an ongoing series that takes place on the second Friday of every month from 10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. with food guru Kate Prejean. Guests will meet microbes up close through hands-on interactives and learn why our gut is the root of all health!
On Friday, October 11, 2019, through Friday, December 13, 2019, visitors will explore the important roles microbes have within our bodies - from the food we like to eat to the medicines we take. Visitors will sample and learn the benefits of eating foods rich in probiotics, how they support gut health, and how healthy digestive systems support healthy bodies. You'll even gain the tools to make your own probiotics with fermented foods as Kate demonstrates how to make kombucha, sauerkraut, and other delicious and nutritious foods and beverages.
