Film Screening: “The Ritchie Boys”
In conjunction with the exhibition "Si Lewen: The Parade", the Menil Drawing Institute will host a screening of the moving documentary The Ritchie Boys, a film about young Jewish refugees who fled then Nazi-controlled countries, only to return as soldiers with the United States Army. Featuring extended interviews with artist Si Lewen, among his fellow “Ritchie Boys” (named after the Camp Ritchie military facility where they trained in counterintelligence and interrogation techniques), this film explores the deeply personal battle they fought as they encountered the brutality of war, anti-Semitism, and the Holocaust. This screening is Courtesy of Tangram Lea & Lorenz Bauer GbR. Run time: 90 minutes.
