Full of Grace 5K

Full of Grace 5KThe second annual Full of Grace 5K is scheduled to take place on Feb. 20, 2016. The run is in honor of Mark Pereira's mother, Graça, who had ovarian cancer and will raise funds to support ovarian cancer research at MD Anderson Cancer Center.

The run starts and ends at St. John Vianney Catholic Church and runs along Houston’s Buffalo Bayou through the trails at Terry Hershey Park. Following the run, the event will have several activities for people of all ages, including face painting and a bouncy house for kids, yard games, delicious Portuguese food provided by L&G Catering and a photo booth. Several Houston-area businesses have donated raffle prizes as well, including a $150 gift card to B&B Butchers, a basketball and jersey signed by Dwight Howard, books from Blue Willow Books and tickets to Comedy Sportz Houston, among others.

Runners do not need to be in the Houston area to participate, however. The 2016 Full of Grace 5K will allow virtual runners. Those registered as a virtual runner need to complete the 3.1 miles by the race date and post their results to social media. Virtual runners even get special t-shirts
indicating their digital presence at the event.

Registration begins Dec. 4. Space is limited so register early. One hundred percent of runner’s registration fees go directly to MD Anderson. Those interested in donating can do so immediately by visiting the website.
