Gardening Class at Hope Farms: Our Winter Solstice Garden (For Kids & Families)

We will learn about photosynthesis and the light needs of different plants along with identifying the plant parts we eat. We will understand why it's important to plant food at the right time of the year, depending on the part of it we eat, and why eating seasonally is so important to the cycles of nature. We will harvest, taste, and plant a new garden of leafy greens and herbs. Children 7-12 may attend alone, and parents are encouraged to accompany their 5- & 6-year-old children.
