Holocaust Museum Houston and the Ponce Project Foundation Present Benefit Concert for Ukrainian Relief

Holocaust Museum Houston (HMH) will host A Benefit Concert for Ukrainian Relief, co-presented by the Ponce Project Foundation, at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6. Tickets start at $25, with proceeds benefitting UNICEF.

The musical evening will feature some of the best local artists and organizations united towards the same cause: Omar Herrera Arizmendi, Luisana Rivas, John Noel, José Garza, Francine Di, Andreea Mut, Zoya Shuhatovich, Vyacheslav Dobrushkin, I Colori dell'opera: Errin Hatter and Kaci Timmons, Axiom Quartet: Dominika Dancewicz, Maxine Kuo, Katie Carrington and Patick Moore. The program will include Beethoven-String Quartet Op.132, Ponce-Piano Mazurkas, Schubert-Piano Sonata Op.120, Verdi-Va Pensiero. Kawai has generously provided a piano for the event.  

This event is open to the public, but tickets must be purchased in advance here. Student tickets are $25 and general admission tickets are $40. Additional donations are encouraged. Proceeds from this public program benefit UNICEF, an agency of the United Nations responsible for providing humanitarian and developmental aid to children worldwide. The organization is currently helping to protect children in Ukraine by providing families access to clean water, food, lifesaving supplies and more.

The Ponce Project Foundation is a non-profit music arts organization founded in 2019 by Mexican pianist Omar Herrera Arizmendi. The organization's vision is to help incorporate the canon of the Latin American Classical Music repertoire into the realm of the classical music world. The Ponce Project Foundation aims to raise awareness of such repertoire by creating and cultivating knowledgeable and appreciative audiences through performances and educational projects of the highest caliber.

Holocaust Museum Houston, Lester and Sue Smith Campus, a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization founded in 1996 by Houston-area Holocaust Survivors, their descendants and members of the community, is accredited by The American Alliance of Museums. The Museum is dedicated to educating people about the Holocaust, remembering the 6 million Jews and other innocent victims and honoring the survivors’ legacy.  Using the lessons of the Holocaust and other genocides, we teach the dangers of hatred, prejudice and apathy.
