Houston Aphasia Recovery Center’s Spring Luncheon

Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale, owner of Gallery Furniture, will be the guest speaker at the Houston Aphasia Recovery Center’s (HARC) spring luncheon on March 3, 2016 at River Oaks Country Club. As the keynote speaker, he will share his strength of heart and amazing spirit in the face of staggering obstacles and inspires us all to the same in our lives. 

Jim is one of more than 100,000 people who survive strokes every year; of those 40 percent also acquire Aphasia. Aphasia is a difficulty with communication, speaking or understanding words, as a result of a stroke or serious brain injury.  

The Houston Aphasia Recovery Center is the first and only non-profit therapeutic wellness center for persons with aphasia in the Greater Houston area. HARC provides a wellness program, education, advocacy, and resources for people with aphasia, their caregivers and the Houston community.

HARC’s annual “Let’s Talk” Luncheon, benefits will be two-fold; not only will guests help HARC continue to be the premier resource for people in Houston but they will also have an extraordinary opportunity to be inspired by a man who despite significant obstacles has achieved so much.
