Houston Center for Photography's 'Her Feet Planted Firmly on the Ground' and 'Picture This' Opening Reception

Houston Center for Photography presents two new exhibits "Her Feet Planted Firmly on the Ground" and 'PictureThis!' which will be on display March 3-7.

Her Feet Planted Firmly on the Ground speaks to the historical ideals of landscape photography. By manipulating the landscape in different ways, the artists in this exhibition leave behind traces of themselves and emphasize the importance of self-representation. Featured artists: Christa Blackwood, Susi Brister, Jennifer Crane, Ellie Davies, Naima Green, Laura Plageman

PictureThis is an educational outreach program that helps children with critical forms of cancer and blood disorders think and dream beyond their illness. HCP Access and Community educators work with outpatient children on short-term projects, often incorporating family members in the process.

The opening reception will take place Friday, March 3, 5:30-8 p.m. Artists' remarks begin at 6 p.m.
