Houston Chamber Choir presents Hear the Future, 20th Anniversary Celebration

Join the Houston Chamber Choir on Jan. 27 for the 20th anniversary celebration of Hear the Future, an annual event in which the company invites three outstanding choirs from the Greater Houston area to participate in its invitational choral festival. The featured choirs serve to acknowledge and encourage high standards for all school choirs. Now entering the festival’s 20th year, thousands of students from more than 40 of the area's finest school choral programs have participated in Hear the Future. The choral concert, to be held at South Main Baptist Church, is free and open to the public. 

This year, Houston Chamber Choir presents the Kinder HSPVA Chorale from Houston ISD directed by Shannon Carter; Tompkins High School Chorale from Katy ISD directed by Christin Reinartz; and the North Shore Senior High School Chorale in Galena Park ISD, directed by Enrique Collazo. Hear the Future gives audience members a chance to show their support and appreciation for the outstanding work being done by music educators and their talented singers. The public is invited to this uplifting afternoon of beautiful music that reinforces the notion that the future has never sounded brighter. Houston Chamber Choir will also perform a short selection of pieces during the concert. 

The professional men and women singers of the Houston Chamber Choir will be led by conductor Robert Simpson. He is founder and artistic director of the Houston Chamber Choir and Canon for Music at historic Christ Church Cathedral (Episcopal in Houston). The Choir will be joined by Kinder HSPVA Chorale from Houston ISD directed by Shannon Carter; Tompkins High School Chorale from Katy ISD directed by Christin Reinartz; and the North Shore Senior High School Chorale in Galena Park ISD, directed by Enrique Collazo.
