The Houston Genealogical Forum Presents: In Search of William “The Immigrant” Cloude Using Y-DNA testing to Explore Paternal Ancestry

When Janine Cloud’s direct paternal line paper trail dead-ends in 1838 Georgia, she turned to Y-DNA testing to attempt to prove a connection between her brick wall ancestor and William "The Immigrant" Cloud, who settled in Pennsylvania Colony in about 1682. The results yielded several surprises, including matches who have no recent connection to each other, and five different surnames. (Yes, one of them is Cloud.) Will next-gen Y testing help unravel the mystery? Whether you are a beginner in DNA research or a seasoned veteran, you will enjoy Janine’s presentation and learn how to apply these DNA principles to your own family research.

Janine began her career with FamilyTree DNA in 2011, starting as an information specialist then moving up to Customer Service manager before creating the Group Projects team she now manages. She is a fifth-generation Texan and a registered member of the Cherokee Nation.

The presentation begins at 10 a.m.; join for munchies and mingling starting at 9 a.m.
