Houston Symphony Opening Night Concert and Gala
Join the Houston Symphony for the start of their new era at the Opening Night Concert and Gala, Verdi Requiem. This celebration begins the 2022-23 Season, and the tenure of Juraj Valčuha as the Houston Symphony’s 16th music director and holder of the Roy and Lillie Cullen Chair.
The evening will begin with a champagne reception on the Mezzanine level of Jones Hall, followed by the Opening Night Concert at 7:30 p.m., featuring Juraj Valčuha leading the orchestra and Houston Symphony Chorus alongside soprano Ana María Martínez, mezzo-soprano Marina Prudenskaya, tenor Jonathan Tetelman, and bass Dmitry Belosselskiy.
Following the concert, guests will be transported to the Corinthian Houston for the Gala, which will include an elegant, seated dinner by Jackson and Company and musical entertainment by the David Caceres Band. Valet service will be available for all Gala guests; simply arrive at Jones Hall and depart from the Corinthian.
All proceeds from Opening Night support the orchestra’s industry-leading Education and Community Engagement initiatives. Gala Chairs: Drs. Susan and Dennis Carlyle
