Interfaith Ministries' 2021 Tapestry Gala

Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston will host its 2021 Tapestry Gala Weds., Oct. 27 at the Hilton Americas- Houston. The organization’s last gala pivoted to a virtual format in the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic. This year’s event is planned as an in-person gathering with masks and social distancing.

The Tapestry Gala is Interfaith Ministries’ largest and most popular fundraising event. It is known for attracting a diverse crowd, mirroring Houston’s diverse and robust culture. The event raises much-needed funds for the programs of Interfaith Ministries, including: Meals on Wheels/Animeals; Refugee Services; Interfaith Relations and Community Partnerships; and Volunteer Houston.

This year’s event honors three local luminaries: Tapestry Award honoree Paula S. Sutton; Spirit of Respect honoree Rev. Dr. Jim Bankston; and Corporate Champion honoree Sysco. The event is chaired by Philamena Baird, Dr. Kathy Flanagan, Dr. Sushma and Devinder Mahajan, and Anuradha and Dr. Kohur Subramanian. The presenting sponsor is Shell. Other lead sponsors include: Brigitte and Bashar Kalai; Barbara Mackey and Dr. Jim Ferrendelli; Karyn and Charles Crisp; Susan and Dan Boggio; CenterPoint Energy; Susanne and Randall Evans; Patty and Richard Everett; Frost Bank; Karen and Jay Harberg; the Marek Family Foundation; Dr. Marilyn Stovall and TRIO Community Meals.
