The International Quilt Festival

Quilt

The International Quilt Festival is the largest annual quilt show in the U.S. and takes place each fall in Houston. Pictured: "Hilda's Patches/Debbie's Borders" by Bellaire resident Deborah C. Williams, quilted by Nancy Gennaro. The description reads: "This quilt top was discovered in Mother's cedar chest. Dad said, 'Toss.' My sister and I recognized some of the fabric from clothes our Great-Aunt Hilda made us. Hilda had hand-pieced the top. I added the borders and back. After 50-plus years, it is a quilt I treasure."

The International Quilt Festival is the largest annual quilt show in the U.S. and takes place each fall in Houston. The festival regularly attracts more than 40,000 people from over 25 countries all around the world. There’s shopping at more than 700 booths for quilts, fabric, supplies, and crafts, along with 350 classes and lectures for all experience levels. The festival features more than 1,200 quilts and unique works of textile art on display.
