Japan Festival Houston
Japan Festival Houston is an annual celebration of Japanese culture held in Houston’s Hermann Park. This year's festival, in celebration of the Japanese Garden in Hermann Park, takes place Sept. 6-7, 2025, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Enjoy the rich cultural heritage of Japan with traditional and contemporary performances of Japanese music, dance and martial arts, Japanese/Japanese-inspired food, as well as demonstrations and displays of Ikebana flower arrangement, tea ceremony, origami, bonsai and more.
One of the most attended events of its type across the entire United States, the Japan Festival brings about a reaffirmation of a commitment to Japanese and Japanese-American traditions, both old and new. The event is FREE and open to the public. Vendors will be charging for their food items and merchandise. Participation in select activities will require a fee.
The annual Japan Festival of Houston is co-sponsored by the City of Houston and the Houston Parks and Recreation Department.
