The Jung Center’s 31st Annual Spring Benefit Dinner

Maureen HackettMelanie Gray and Mark Wawro and Carolyn and Oliver Rodz are chairing The Jung Center’s 31st Annual Spring Benefit Dinner, An Evening with Delia Ephron: Navigating Life’s Absurdities, Obsessions & Hardships, honoring Maureen Hackett.

Honoree Maureen Hackett is passionate about supporting the humanity of all individuals and the communities in which they live. With a particular interest in mental wellness and universal access to care, Maureen’s priorities as both a donor and community activist have been influenced by her personal experiences and overarching desire to make a substantial impact in the lives of others. Together with her husband, Jim, she formed the Hackett Family Foundation in 1996 to act as an agent for change in the realm of behavioral and mental health with a focus on awareness and education, research and treatment, and the eradication of the stigma associated with mental health care.

Speaker Delia Ephron has written numerous books, including her latest New York Times bestseller Siracusa, which Publisher’s Weekly calls a “brilliant take down of marital and familial pretense”. With her sister Nora Ephron, she co-wrote You’ve Got Mail and was an associate producer of Sleepless in Seattle. Ephron has been published in The Wall Street Journal, O the Oprah Magazine and New York Magazine, and she is a frequent Op-Ed contributor to The New York Times. Ephron puts a witty and thoughtful spin on navigating life’s absurdities, obsessions and hardships.

Honorary Chairs Drs. Beth and Stuart Yudofsky are staunch advocates of mental wellness and long-time admirers of Maureen. Stuart and Maureen have a long history of working together to champion mental wellness, and Stuart is a frequent presenter at The Jung Center. We are pleased to bring them together with Maureen for this very special evening.

Funds raised ensure that The Jung Center continues to thrive as a nonprofit organization and unique educational resource providing programming for improved mental health awareness and wellness.
