Love the Skin You Are In Conference

A Children’s House for the Soul will host the First Annual “Love the Skin You Are In” conference for school-age children and teens with birthmarks and skin conditions, and their families, Saturday, June 4 at The Health Museum. This one-day special event will feature internationally recognized & award winning photographer Rick Guidotti of NY-based Positive Exposure, Baylor School of Medicine Clinical Assistant Professor and Pediatric Dermatologist of A Children’s House for Pediatric Dermatology Dr. Alanna Bree, Chaplain Jennifer Shannon of The Woman’s Hospital of Texas, Child-Life Specialist Lindsay O’Sullivan of Texas Children’s Hospital and nationally-acclaimed Youth Motivational Speaker Shannon Pickard.

It will offer children and youth, and their families, an opportunity to connect with others experiencing the challenges of significant birthmarks and chronic skin conditions through inspiring talks, engaging community-building activities,enlightening panel discussions,and empowering photography that showcases each participant’s unique beauty. Lunch will be provided and give participants the opportunity to meet with others facing similar experiences, often for the first time.
