The Children's Museum of Houston celebrates the Year of the Rooster at the Lunar New Year Bash with lion dancers, cultural performances and more.

Children's Museum of Houston celebrates the Year of the Rooster with lion dancers, cultural performances and more!

Special events include: 

  • Lion Dancers: Watch lions boogie to the beat of the drums in an exhilarating performance.
  • Event time: Performances at 11 a.m. on Jan. 21 in the Brown Auditorium.
  • Event time: Performances at 1 and 3 p.m. on Jan. 28 in the Brown Auditorium.
  • Traditional Dances: Discover the symbolic expression of Pan-Asian heritage.

Ongoing activities include:

  • Face Painting and Coloring: Transform into any animal or bring your animal to life in Kids’ Hall. 
  • Lei Making: Welcome the New Year with decorative flowers to wear in Kids’ Hall.
  • Chinese Lantern: Welcome the New Year by decorating a lantern in Kids’ Hall.
  • Origami: Learn about the art of paper folding and create a masterpiece in Kids’ Hall

Price: 
$12 per person and $11 for seniors 65+ and for active duty military personnel. Children under one and Museum Members receive free admission.
