MFAH presents 'Lunar New Year Celebration'
The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, presents Lunar New Year Celebration, Jan. 28, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., highlighting the closing weekend of Emperors’ Treasures: Chinese Art from the National Palace Museum, Taipei, and the Chinese New Year. Programming includes art-making activities, musical performances from the North America Youth Chinese Orchestra, traditional dancing, guided tours of the exhibition, and more. Emperors’ Treasures presents more than 160 works of art from the National Palace Museum: a unique selection of paintings, bronzes, calligraphy, and decorative arts, including porcelain, textiles, enamels, and jade. Art-making, and musical and dance performances will be free for visitors. Tickets to the exhibition are available for purchase on-site and online. Food and beverage will be available for purchase on location. Following the event, visitors are encouraged to continue the celebration at the Asia Society Texas Center for Family Day: Lunar New Year, from 1-4 p.m.
