Musical and Literary Ofrenda

The River Oaks Chamber Orchestra (ROCO) celebrates “Day of the Dead” with a free Musical and Literary Ofrenda at Lawndale Art Center on Oct. 25. ROCO partners with Lawndale, Musiqa, Inprint and Houston Hispanic Forum for this annual event, which is promoted by the Mexican Consulate.

The five original musical “ofrendas” (offerings) — commissioned by ROCO from Musiqa composers — are woven amongst four original prose texts by Inprint authors, surrounded by the “retablos” (alterpieces) on display at Lawndale. Get tickets here.
