MusicFest 2023

The 11th annual MusicFEST at the Willow Waterhole Greenway—a free, one-day family-friendly festival featuring live music, Halloween-themed activities, community booths, and great food and drink—takes place on Saturday, October 28, beginning at 11 a.m.

The line-up of outstanding professional vocalists and their bands will play a wide range of styles—New Orleans and Southern roots, jazz, rock ‘n’ roll, funk, gospel, danceable oldies, Santana favorites, blues, R&B, and more. This year four top-notch school bands from area music magnet schools will also perform. The program begins at 11, with the school groups on stage from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. and the professional groups from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. The music closes out at 7 p.m. 

Some of Houston’s finest food trucks will be onsite, along with Houston’s own art cars decked out for our Halloween “Trunk or Treat.” Activities for kids and adults will include an inflatable, haunted maze bouncy house, Halloween scenes for family photo ops, a mortals and dogs costume parade, games, prizes, and more. Community organizations will have booths with information to share. Plenty of picnic tables will be available under tents, but feel free to bring your own lawn chairs or blankets. 

Everyone will find something to enjoy in this naturally beautiful—and unnaturally spooky—greenspace. Come early to enjoy all the talented performers, and stay late to catch the sunset!
