Neurofibromatosis Walk and Family Fun Day

NF WalkOn Nov. 7, a group of local volunteers from the Children’s Tumor Foundation will lead a Walk and Kid Hero Dash to raise awareness and money to fund research into neurofibromatosis (NF). NF is a genetic disorder that can cause tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body and affects one in every 3,000 people. Currently there is no cure or effective treatment.

The Children’s Tumor Foundation identifies NF Heroes as those who have demonstrated remarkable courage living with neurofibromatosis. During the welcome remarks our local NF heroes will be recognized for their positive spirit and resolve. Many other NF Heroes will participate at the NF Walk, together with teams that have committed to raising money and awareness on their behalf.

NF Walk is a national fundraising program of the Children's Tumor Foundation that supports critical NF research, raises awareness, and provides support for individuals living with NF and their families. An NF Walk affords families, friends, and neighbors the opportunity to connect with others who are affected by NF.

The day's activities include a NF Hero Ceremony, Dog Superhero Contest, the walk, Kid's Dash, family activities, lunch and a silent auction. Registration/check-in and breakfast begins at 9 a.m.
