"Parents, Let's Talk About Mental Health" - Navigating Parenting in a Digital World

Mallory Mincberg

Mallory Mincberg, MEd, licensed professional counselor at The Menninger Clinic will share insights on how parents can navigate parenting in a digital world in a positive way.

The Menninger Clinic, a nationally recognized leader in mental health treatment, education and research has teamed up with The Health Museum to offer parents and caregivers useful information through a convenient, FREE virtual program series called, “Parents, Let’s Talk Mental Health.”

Social media, new technology, and the internet – children today are experiencing a new digital world, different from the childhood of their parents. Common Sense Media reports that teenagers spend about seven hours a day on a digital device for entertainment; children ages 12 and younger spend over 4 and a half hours. How do parents keep pace with this digital activity?

Mallory Mincberg, MEd, licensed professional counselor at The Menninger Clinic will share insights on how parents can navigate parenting in a digital world in a positive way. She’ll address how parents can model behaviors on devices; how to stay a step ahead with social media and other popular apps their children are using; and why it is important to give children some digital privacy and how to do it.
