Second Annual Hermann Park Kite Festival

Join us for the Second Annual Hermann Park Kite Festival on Sunday, March 29, 2015. Everyone is invited to this free festival as kites in all shapes and sizes set sail in the spring sky on Miller Hill and around the Jones Reflection Pool. There will be entertainment for kids including kite making, friendly kite flying, face painting, and more!

Throughout the park will be performers, ribbon dancers, musicians, jugglers, and more. Pedal boats will be available on McGovern Lake and the train will run throughout the day. Food trucks will be stationed around the park with creative culinary delights for all.

We expect several thousand kite fliers and spectators out to enjoy a gorgeous day in the park, so plan your trip accordingly. We strongly recommend using alternative transportation into the Park. You can park off site and ride the METRORail to the Hermann Park/Rice U station, ride your bike or rent a B-Cycle, pay to park at the Memorial Hermann Medical Plaza Garage or the Rice University stadium lot and walk over, or connect with Uber or Yellow Cab for a stress-free drive. If you must drive, please carpool! There are several parking locations in and around the park, but they fill up quickly!
