Sensory Friendly Halloween Event at Children's Museum of Houston
Children's Museum of Houston invites children with autism to an exclusive, sensory-friendly Halloween event. Kids with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and sensory processing differences can explore the museum exclusively. Doors will be closed to the public. There will be no music and sound-reducing headphones will be available. Outside food and drinks will be allowed (Fresh Café will be closed).
Special events include:
- Sensory Friendly Music: Enjoy an engaging musical performance, beginning at 10 a.m. in Tree Top, ongoing.
- Creative Movement: Exercise your mind and muscles, 10:15 a.m., 10:45 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. in Celebrations.
- Sensory Friendly Story Time: Immerse yourself in an interactive adventure, 10:15 and 11:15 a.m. at Parent Resource Library.
- Sensory Friendly STEM Workshop: Ooze with ickiness as you create ooey, gooey monster slime, 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. in Celebrations.
Ongoing activities include:
- Animal Electricity: Use electricity to make the leg of a paper frog jump at EcoStation.
- Freaky Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein Masks: Wire electrifyingly masks at Junktion.
- Wickedly Mad Scientist Wig: Be in for a shock and make your hair stand at Junktion.
- Mad Scientist Goggles: Fashion your own pair to perceive the unknown at Junktion.
