Sounds of Scotland Event at Saint Thomas' Episcopal School
Saint Thomas’ Episcopal School will celebrate its founder’s Scottish heritage at the 51st annual Sounds of Scotland concert event. The Sounds of Scotland is a one-of-a-kind event showcasing the best in Scottish music and dance. Concert-goers will feel like they’ve stepped into the majestic Highlands as world-renowned student bagpipers, drummers and dancers — all clad in traditional Scottish attire — take the stage.
STE’s Scottish Arts program has been a part of the school’s unique heritage from the start, and the pipe band is among the world’s most respected. The band has won five Juvenile Pipe Band World Championships in Scotland and performed for Queen Elizabeth II and former President George H.W. Bush. STE’s Highland dancers have made some history of their own with numerous U.S. championships and top placement in the world championships.
All proceeds will help pay for the pipe band’s trip to Scotland this summer, where they’ll compete at the world championships.
