Spring Family Day at Bayou Bend & Rienzi

Visit the two MFAH house museums—Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens and Rienzi—for an afternoon of free, family-friendly programs that connect art, nature, history, and science.

“Glorious Gardens” at Bayou Bend
Outside, enjoy music and theatrical performances; a storytelling program; and gardening-focused games, activities, and demonstrations. Inside, discover the influences of the natural world on American art and design. The gardens theme provides the perfect inspiration for Arbor Day on April 29.

“Exploration & Mapping Technology” at Rienzi
Activities focus on 18th-century scientific expeditions, exploration, and mapping technology. Enjoy storytime in the gardens, and participate in art activities with connnections to a telescope and a globe in the Rienzi Collection. Inside, explore the galleries, where docents are on hand to answer your questions.
