Studio Movie Grill Safety Series: The Cantinera

Studio Movie Grill, in partnership with Crime Stoppers of Houston, proudly presents the first screening of the 2015 Safety Series, The Cantinera:  Cantina Girl produced and directed by Ruth Villatoro. This riveting documentary showcases the infiltration of human trafficking into our everyday lives. Join us for a free screening of the film with an introduction by the director, followed by a panel discussion featuring local experts.

The Cantinera is a story of a woman who was forced by her mother to drink with men in latin bars when she was thirteen years old. Twenty-three years later, she is still drinking thirty beers a night, five nights a week, but longs for sobriety and a second chance.

In this feature documentary, go first hand into the world of human trafficking through hidden cameras and a few brave women who are dedicated to fighting against the growing criminal industry.
