Robert M. Gates will provide remarks and participate in a “fireside chat” with Eleanor Gates, director of Volunteer Houston at Volunteer Houston's 45th Anniversary celebration.
Volunteer Houston, a program of Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston, will celebrate its legacy of 45 years of service at an unforgettable anniversary dinner on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 6 p.m. at Hilton Americas-Houston.
Robert M. Gates, the 22nd Secretary of Defense, former president of Texas A & M University, and former director of the Central Intelligence Agency, will provide remarks and participate in a “fireside chat” with Eleanor Gates, director of Volunteer Houston.
There will be a Daily Point of Light award given at the event by Neil Bush, chairman of Points of Light.
Melanie Lawson, ABC 13 news anchor, will be the event emcee and her father, The Rev. William A. Lawson, will provide the invocation.
Event sponsors include Hilton Americas-Houston, Frost Bank, BP America Inc., Dawn and Richard Rawson, The Buzz Magazines and Community Impact Newspapers. Proceeds benefit Volunteer Houston and the other programs of Interfaith Ministries.
