Wake Up, Mama - A Pregnant Pause

Rushing Productions presents the world premiere of Wake Up, Mama - A Pregnant Pause at Midtown Arts & Theater Center Houston, Aug. 10–13. Written, directed and produced by Katie Rushing, this original one-act play is a relatable take on the comedy and drama of motherhood.

Maggie Sabey is a mother of two with one on the way, and this time around, she is determined to keep everything in perfect balance during pregnancy. But as Maggie's waistline widens, responsibilities mount. Her husband's home-brew hobby, her sister's impending wedding and an
intimidating, Pinterest-perfect soccer mom threaten Maggie's mantra of “maternal mindfulness.” Audiences will laugh and cry throughout Wake Up Mama – A Pregnant Pause, a truthful and empowering examination of parenthood, partnership and picking up the pieces.
