Walk for Sickle Cell
On Oct. 22, the 3K Walk for Sickle Cell in Houston will take place.It is estimated that more than 300 sickle cell families and patients will gather to support individuals with sickle cell disease. All funds raised from this Walk will go to support the agency's annual Camp Cell-A-Bration, a camp for children between the ages of 6 and 14 with sickle cell disease.
We are a 501c(3) non-profit that has operated in Texas since 1997, and we provide services for individuals throughout the state affected by sickle cell disease. The Sickle Cell Association of Texas Marc Thomas Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was started by Marc Thomas in 1997. Over the past 19 years, the organization has impacted over 50,000 individuals through support, education, advocacy, assistance, referrals, and camps for children. As the largest and oldest organization in Texas serving families affected by this incurable disorder, we seek partnerships across the state in order to provide low-cost services for our clients, many of whom are economically disadvantaged.
