Workshop Wednesday

Girls Inc. of Houston will host hands on activities beginning at 12pm (limited quantities available). Activities include marshmallow catapult and chromatography. 

11:30 – 11:50 a.m.: HGOco’s First Songs: Young children from birth to preschool age, along with their caregivers will learn soothing songs through the joy of reading. A teaching artist will help participants use music as a tool to interact with their young ones during reading time. (located on the Anheuser-Busch Stage)

12 – 12:50 p.m.: HGOco’s Storybook Opera: An engaging and enjoyable introduction to opera for young children lead by our singing storytellers in 30 minute segments of captivating fun! A variety of books, as well as opera themed stories will be told in English and bilingual English-Spanish presentations. (located on the Anheuser-Busch Stage)

12-1 p.m.: o Screening of a new Houston PBS Kids TV show "Take the Stage" with improvisational poetry game to follow. (located on the Cullen Veranda)

12-4 p.m.: The Houston Public Library Express at Discovery Green will be open. 

1-2 p.m.: Writing Workshop with Writers in The Schools (located on the deck near Jones Lawn)

2-3 p.m.: Poetry Workshop with Writers in The Schools (located on the deck near Jones Lawn)

3-4 p.m.: Dance Workshop and performance by Break Free Community Center’s Hip Hop School(located on the Anheuser-Busch Stage)
