Cinco de Mayo Wonderweek
Join the fiesta as the Children’s Museum of Houston celebrates Cinco de Mayo through fun, hands-on activities and performances, such as:
- Ojo de Dios (God’s Eye): Weave an Ojo de Dios or God's eye at Junktion. The God's Eye is a traditional folk craft.
- Domino Trains: Put your mind to work with this traditional Mexican game of dominoes matching numbers strategically to build a long train at the ExxonMobil Math Cart.
- Toma Todo: Spin over to the ExxonMobil Math Cart for a traditional Mexican game of chance with a twist.
- Talavera Tiles: Paint a traditional Mexican tile using oil pastels and traditional Mexican shapes and colors at the Junktion.
- Mini Piñata: Construct your own piñata in celebration of Cinco de Mayo at Junktion!
- Amate Paintings: Create a painting in the style of traditional Mexican folk art at theAlexander Art Academy.
- Insect Impressions: Make an impression of an insect to take home with you at EcoStation!
- Lifecycle of a Grasshopper: Learn about the lifecycle of a grasshopper, the national arthropod of Mexico at EcoStation!
