National Merit semifinalist
Incarnate Word Academy senior Anna Winter (pictured, center) has been named a semifinalist in the National Merit Scholarship competition. The 16,000 semifinalists are the highest-scoring entrants in each state and represent fewer than 1 percent of each state's high school seniors. Anna qualifies to continue in the competition for National Merit scholarships, which will be awarded in the spring of 2017. Two Incarnate Word Academy seniors, Jennifer Martin (at left) and Marina Pirzada (right), have been designated as commended students in the National Merit Scholarship Program. Their selection scores placed them among the top 50,000 of over 1.6 million students who took the 2015 PSAT.
