The Houston scene

More than 360 people gathered for the 2016 Scenic Houston annual dinner at the Houston Country Club. The event honored the organization’s 2016 “Scenic Visionary,” Larry D. Johnson. Event co-chairs David Hightower and Julie Peak (pictured, from left), along with guests, began the evening with an outdoor cocktail reception followed by a seated dinner in the ballroom. The award recognizes a community leader who has helped enhance Houston streetscapes, public spaces and neighborhoods. The event raised more than $390,000 to support the work of Scenic Houston.
