Stories to share
Everyone in the community is invited to the monthly free speaker series at the Trotter YMCA called Stories of Service. This month’s Stories of Service will take place on May 19 at 11 a.m. in Multipurpose Room 2 where Dr. Sam Axelrad will speak. Dr. Axelrad will share his story as a captain of a Forward Medical Command in the U.S. Army’s First Cavalry. He is author of the book, Peaceful Bones, which is the story of an extraordinary friendship in a time of war and the reunion 46 years later. On June 16, Pat Ceglia will share his story serving in the United States Air Force during World War II. He will talk about his experiences as a radio gunner in the 8th Air Force. SOS is held the third Friday of the month at 11 a.m. for both members and non-members. Light refreshments are served. Pictured (from left) are Dick Baile and Ed Haye at a previous SOS.
