A trip to George Ranch

It was perfect weather for first graders from Rummel Creek Elementary to take a field trip to the George Ranch Historical Park. Pictured (from left) are Kimberly Koch, Blake Vanderslice, Hannah Hewitt, Kailyn Davis, Madeleine Wright and Macy Kohl. The students learned about pioneer life in the 1830s through demonstrations of open-hearth cornbread cooking, rifle firing, and spinning and weaving. They explored other areas of the ranch, including the smokehouse and henhouse.
