Free the Captives’ Christmas Market
Free the Captives is hosting its 5th Annual Christmas Market on Friday and Saturday at Crosspoint Church. Fifteen percent of your total purchase will benefit Free the Captives’ anti-human trafficking programs.
Movies at Miller: Elf Watch the funny holiday classic Elf (rated PG), starring Will Ferrell, outside at Miller Outdoor Theatre, Friday at 7 p.m.
Via Colori Make your weekend more colorful by attending Via Colori Street Painting Festival, which takes place at Hermann Square on Saturday and Sunday. More than 200 artists will be painting the streets of Houston. There will also be music, activities, food and more.
Fresh Arts presents Winter Holiday Art Market Fresh Arts is celebrating the 12th anniversary of their Winter Holiday Art Market (WHAM) this Saturday and Sunday. Browse handmade items from more than 65 local artists of all disciplines. Enjoy artist demonstrations, live music performances, free beverages and food for sale by local vendors.
Glisten Holiday Lighting Head to CityCentre this Saturday, 12-9 p.m., for the annual holiday lighting in the plaza. Santa will kick off the festivities to spread holiday cheer and pose for photos. Kids will enjoy taking a ride down the 5’ snow slides and building a snowman in the snow box. There will be Christmas carols, a DJ during the evening, an ice carving demonstration and more before the holiday lighting.
Frostival Discovery Green kicks off its winter season with Frostival this Saturday night, 6-10 p.m., an evening that marks the opening of The ICE at Discovery Green and the temporary art installation. The celebration includes live music, ice-carving battles, interactive ice sculptures, a beer garden with an ice bar and more. The ice rink opens at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
Zoo Lights Zoo Lights returns to the Houston Zoo beginning this Saturday night. The zoo will be transformed into a winter wonderland, including more than two million lights.
