Southwest Football League sophomore Aggies

After finishing the regular season with a 3-4 record, the Southwest Football League (SFL) sophomore Aggies (pictured) came on strong in the playoffs and ultimately won the championship over the Mustangs, 42-0. The team of third and fourth graders had the smallest boys in the division, and several players were new to tackle football. None of this seemed to matter in the championship game when the Aggies’ defense allowed only three Mustang first downs, and strong offensive blocking allowed Morgan Tannery and Ford McCauley to score a combined six touchdowns. The mighty underdogs are (top row, from left) Michael Morris, Evan Sanchez, BJ Ratcliff, Henry Mossman, Jack Nodler and Nyle Syed; (second row, from left) Trip McCarty, Sully Mulcahy, Grant Berry and Maveric Clarin-Jante; (third row, from left) Alexander Austin, Carlo Medrano, Ford McCauley, Morgan Tannery and Taz Schellinger; and (front row) Austin Graf.
