Winning team at chili cookoff

The first-place winning team was “It’s Always Yummy in Chilidelphia,” with (pictured, from left) Taylor Russel, Jacob Melancon, Patrick Broussard, Stephen Newton, Brandon Harrison, Scott Ivers and Tony Tortorice. 

Supporters of Casa de Esperanza de los Niños gathered at Kirby Ice House for the 8th annual Chili Cook-Off, co-chaired by Elizabeth and Josh Blount, Mary Ann Cuellar and Richard Mason, and Annie Daugherty and Albert Spiers. The non-profit helps break the cycle of child abuse and neglect through residential and aftercare programs. Over 30 teams competed for the coveted title of Best Chili. The first-place winning team was “It’s Always Yummy in Chilidelphia,” with (pictured, from left) Taylor Russel, Jacob Melancon, Patrick Broussard, Stephen Newton, Brandon Harrison, Scott Ivers and Tony Tortorice.
