Fowl-bulous Function: WorkFaith Connection’s Spring Chicks Luncheon
WorkFaith Connection’s Spring Chicks Luncheon guests were busy nibbling and chirping when a six-foot chicken started parading around the River Oaks Country Club ballroom and flapping its wings.
The “chicken” hopped on stage with Mistress of Ceremonies, Dana Tyson, morning host for Sunny 99.1, to lead the fowl-bulous flock in the Chicken Dance. For the traditional big reveal, this poultry person removed their chicken head. Who knew that underneath those feathers was Tim McDermott, recently retired President and General Manager of radio station KSBJ 89.3?
Tim thanked the crowd and crowed his support of WorkFaith Connection’s mission of “helping disadvantaged job seekers develop the skills to obtain employment and stay employed.”
Other guest speakers included Marcus Reyna, a successful graduate from WorkFaith’s Eight-Day Job Search Boot Camp. Marcus’ testimony brought both laughter and a few tears from the guests.
Speaker Lincee Ray also brought tears . . . of laughter, sharing her adventures as a blogger and website author of iHateGreenBeans.com
Clucking over the day’s event were Warner Roberts, Monica Hartland, Susan Baker, Klinka Lollar, Janice McNair, Julie Jordan, Barbara Elliott and Suzette Caldwell.
The WorkFaith Connection looks forward to their next event, the By Faith Breakfast on Sept. 11, 2018 at The Hilton Americas-Houston.
