The 20th Annual Laura Lee Blanton Community Spirit Award Dinner took place at River Oaks Country Club with more than 220 supporters of the Houston Hospice Program in attendance. Chairs Mary Ellen and Bruce Meyer were thrilled that the evening raised over $260,000. Eddy Blanton, Laura Lee’s son, presented the big community spirit award to Nancy and Bryan Ruez. Melanie Lawson of KTRK Channel 13 served as emcee. Pictured are (from left) Bill and Judy Luedemann, Jane Strickland and Waldo Luedemann.
