One sunny afternoon, while running errands with my mom, a creative idea leapt into my mind. I started jotting my idea down, and The Other Side of the Moon was born! A few months later, I starting putting my thoughts down on paper. I worked with my writing teacher, Mr. Mark Price, who guided and mentored me through the entire journey. Each week I met with Mr. Price to go over my progress, and together we reviewed and analyzed the details.
As time passed, I learned to build up the story, the drama and the suspense. I realized that, as important as imagining and writing the story was, it is just as important to edit and polish the writing many times to make it just right. After a year of writing and rewriting, imagining and re-imagining, I finally finished my book.
My next mission was to design the cover for my book that resonated with my story. I created my perfect design, which was illustrated by a professional artist. My manuscript and the entire book was edited for publication and on Nov. 24, 2018, my book The Other Side of the Moon was published on Amazon!
This story’s setting is on the moon, where an astronaut named Daniel sees a trail of rocks and follows them until he realized he is lost! He meets a creature that leads him through a mysterious portal and into an exciting adventure. The mission co-pilots of the ship, Lily and Buzz, who set out to find Daniel, quickly find themselves pulled into the action. There are many surprises awaiting my readers on the other side of the moon.
Writing is very important to me, and so is helping other people. I will be donating the proceeds from my book to the Star of Hope, an organization supporting the homeless. I highly recommend buying this for a family member or friend, both to enjoy a great read, and to support those less fortunate.
