DePelchin Children’s Center hosted its annual Families for Kids Luncheon at River Oaks Country Club. Honoree was The Hamill Foundation, founded in 1969 by Claud and Marie Hamill. Event emcee was Sally MacDonald of FOX 26. Keynote speaker Ashley Rhodes-Courter, a former foster child, told about growing up in the child-welfare system. She introduced legislation to protect children in state care from abuse and is the author of Three Little Words and Three More Words. Pictured are chairs Kim and Scott David with Rhodes-Courter (middle).
