Wedding bells

Alyssa Schaffer and Austin Sherrill married June 8 at The Astorian. A graduate of Bellaire High School, Alyssa grew up in the Meyerland/Bellaire area, and Austin grew up in Clear Lake. Both graduated from The University of Texas at Austin but didn’t meet until later. They belonged to the same gym for years before officially meeting through mutual friends in February 2015 and started dating shortly after. Austin proposed on the Schaffers’ annual July 4th family vacation in Aspen, Colo. They wanted the wedding to be unique, bright and fun. The ceremony was performed by Austin's brother, Colin Sherrill, and Alyssa's maid of honor's husband, Jacob Cohen. Once the band started, not one guest stayed in their seat. Parents Suzy and Jack Schaffer and Martha Sherrill and Joseph Sherrill are thrilled. The newlyweds honeymooned in The Maldives and Dubai.
