Jerry, Jack, Julian and Noah Pittman

Noah and Jack Pittman, seniors at Bellaire High School, earned their Eagle Scout rank. They’re members of Troop 46 at St. Luke’s Methodist Church and come from generations of dedicated Scouts. Their father, Julian Pittman, was a member of Troop 700 in Grapevine and earned his Eagle Scout rank in 1985, and their uncle, Greer Pittman, was a member of the same troop and earned his Eagle Scout rank in 1990. Their grandfather, Jerry Pittman, was a member of Troop 142 in Sweetwater and earned his Eagle Scout rank in 1959. And their great-grandfather, W.T. Waits, was a member of Troop 69 from Sulfur Springs and earned his Eagle Scout rank around 1933. For his Eagle Scout project, Jack cleared out and restored an overgrown sand pit called “Sand Lake” at River Oaks Elementary School and rebuilt an 18-foot wooden deck that had rotted away; he and Noah both went to ROE and played at Sand Lake as students. Noah renovated the kitchen for nonprofit Books Between Kids, installing new cabinets, a counter, shelving and a sink, refinishing and providing new furniture and repainting the room. Noah has coordinated a book drive for BBK through Troop 46 for the last six years.
