Cultivating community
Volunteers at Congregation Emanu El gathered for the Cultivating Families social action project and were split up to do various projects to help ease children’s moves into foster homes. The most crowded project was “First Night Kits,” packing backpacks with toiletry items, pajamas, stuffed animals, coloring books, blankets and more. Volunteer David Wall took on the project of building a carpentry-masterpiece bunk bed for a foster home. Pictured are (from left) Jason Plotkin, Ashley Smalls from CPS, Wall, Cultivating Families founder the Rev. Amy Bezecny, volunteer Barbara Glave, and co-chairs Marcia Fineman and Ali Septimus.
