More than 250 Houstonians toasted to nonprofit Children at Risk’s 30th birthday at the annual Accolades luncheon. Deborah and David Roylance chaired the event at Hotel ZaZa. President and CEO Dr. Bob Sanborn was joined by emcee José Grinan of FOX-26 and board chair-elect Devika Kornbacher to present the annual Academy Awards of Child Advocacy. Rose Escobar shared how her husband’s wrongful deportation affected their children, and how this inspired her to become an advocate for children of immigrants. Special guests and honorees included Karen Labat, Ginny Mithoff, Mark Wallace, Alissa and Kevin Maples, Karla Cisneros, Andy Canales, Dr. Ann Barnes, Dr. Grenita Latham, Dr. Chris Greeley, and Chris and Susannah Watt.
