Zach Pahutka

Zach Pahutka, a third grader at Second Baptist School, completed the 2020 Aramco Houston Half Marathon with his dad.

Zach Pahutka, age 8, loves to run and enjoyed cheering on the runners – including his dad, Bob – in the 2019 Chevron Houston Marathon. After that day, his parents asked if he wanted to take on the Aramco Houston Half Marathon in 2020. He was excited by the idea and started training last summer, running several times a week with his dad and making sure to get in a long run on Sunday. Zach, a third grader at Second Baptist School, said, “We always go see my dad or mom run in the races and I thought it would be fun, and it was,” said Zach. “I even beat my dad to the finish line!” Zach’s mom Teresa cheered on the father-son duo along with siblings Josh and Abby. In addition to running, Zach enjoys playing basketball, baseball and soccer and is planning to run the Half Marathon again next year. He looks forward to running the full marathon in the future (as soon as he turns 12!).
